An Attempt to Intervene in the Nature of “Nature” Through Performance and Become Part of It
During the exhibition period, Nomura will give a performance within the installation that recreates the motions involved in gold panning, illustrating the interplay between the dynamism of nature and human desire and curiosity. In this performance, the act of panning for gold is conceived as a kind of fusion between the flow of the river and the human body, representing an attempt to express the moment in which nature, the memory of the land, and human activity intersect with each other in three-dimensional terms.
