Two years after the Noto Peninsula earthquake that occurred near Kanazawa, the affected areas are still on the road to recovery. In FY2026, instead of the Oku-Noto Triennale that was postponed the“Oku-Noto Triennale being,” an event that does not entail the creation of new artworks, but rather a partial showcase of previously produced works, will be held. This exhibition features USHIJIMA Hitoshi and SAWA Hiraki, both of whom have exhibited at the Triennale and are represented in the museum's collection. They maintain an ongoing connection with Noto, engaging with the present state of the disaster-affected areas through their art, and contemplating the future of Noto alongside the prospect of the regeneration of their own works.
