About

As a related program to the ongoing exhibition "Kongkee: Electronic Heart Beat" (October 18, 2025 - March 22, 2026), this online event welcomes the exhibiting artist Kongkee, who will speak about the background and production process of his representative animation series Dragon’s Delusion. In addition, through a Q&A session and the sharing of reviews by members of the Hirosaka Cinema Club, the event aims to further deepen participants’ understanding of the works.

Profile

  • Kongkee

    Graduated from the Department of Fine Arts at the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2000 and completed a Master's degree in Creative Media at Hong Kong City University in 2005. Kongkee has been serializing the comic series Mi Luo Virtual, which was later adapted into the animated series Dragon’s Delusion. In 2022, his solo exhibition “Kongkee: Warring States Cyberpunk” was held at the Asian Art Museum in San Francisco, and subsequently toured to the Wrightwood 659 in Chicago and Tai Kwun in Hong Kong. In 2025, he was invited to exhibit at the 18th Istanbul Biennial, Turkey.

About Hirosaka Cinema Club

  • A community open to the local people, connecting diverse people across generations through the theme of film. Based at the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa, it shares the appeal of film with the local community through activities like watching, showing, and learning about movies.

    About the Symbol Mark
    Inside the camera, an illustration of the Japanese sign language for “shi-ne-ma” (cinema) is depicted, representing the concept of making films accessible to a diverse audience.
