Shakespeare’s Wild Sisters Group X Dainanagekijo Notes Exchange Vol.3

Café Lumière

Japanese and Taiwanese theater companies join forces to bring the film "Café Lumière"  to the stage
Dainanagekijo, based in the city of Tsu, Mie Prefecture, and a company from Taipei will collaborate in a theater version of "Café Lumière," inspired by the eponymous film directed by leading international Taiwanese filmmaker Hou Hsiao-hsien, in a production as refreshing for the soul as a cup of coffee that turns its gaze on the bonds between Taiwan and Japan, between people, and between individuals and family.

2nd Interactive Projection Mapping Opera Festival Simultaneous performance of the operas Asahina and The Old Maid and the Thief

2019.1.19 (Sat.) - 2019.1.20 (Sun.)

Projection mapping will be used for the backdrop in this simultaneous performance of Asahina, a story based on kyogen, and The Old Maid and the Thief, the tragi-comic tale of a spinster in 1930s small-town America.


&21 joint arts exchange project: “&21” (Ando Nijuichi) is a program in which the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa calls for/adopts projects of sophisticated artistry and creativity with the aim of boosting local culture, providing PR and production support in a collaborative capacity. For 2018, five projects have been chosen.
