Tadanori YOKOO may be described as an artist who, while crisscrossing the genres of painting, design, movies, theater, music, and literature, absorbs that which meets the eye, that which meets the ear, indeed everything into his person, and expresses it back in his own unique style, all in order to shift our perceptions of the world. This exhibit examines the essence of his artistic activities under the keyword ‘incomplete’. It also features some of his latest endeavors, including public costume -play performance paintings (PCPPP) and the Yokoo Workshop, where selected members of the public attempt to replicate a few of his works.

Olafur ELIASSON (b. 1967, Denmark) is an active contemporary artist based in Copenhagen and Berlin. Known for his skillful use of color, light, mirrors, and even natural phenomena such as fog, his works delve into the inner workings of human perception. While on one hand they have us consider the mechanics of scientific perception and recognition, on the other they fill us with poetic warmth and even a sense of faith. This exhibit centers on Eliasson’s site-specific works, created to boldly capture and involve, at a fundamental level, this museum’s architectural space.
