Peter McDonald: Visitor Call for team members

Peter McDonald: Visitor - a yearlong project/exhibition by the Japanese-British artist Peter McDonald - represents the fifth edition of Kanazawa Youth Dream Art Challenge Programme.
The project will launch with "Salon", the exhibition of the artist's paintings in the Long-Term Project room at the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa, with the intent that from there the world of McDonald's paintings will go on to make its mark on various parts of the city. Then with a painting that will cover all four wall surfaces, McDonald will transform Gallery 13 into "Disco", a space for music, dance and a variety of other creative programs.
The Museum is calling for team members to work together with Peter McDonald in the production and administration of these projects.

Peter McDonald

Peter McDonald (born in Tokyo in 1973, based in London) captures the act of painting as performance. In 2002, while painting a series of works based on performers on stage, a character with a large head appeared. Thereafter, with the image of this character at the core of his visual language, he expresses, with abbreviated iconography and rich colors, everyday situations. These have included: concerts, airports, a bakery, hair salons, classrooms, museums and cafés among many others. He has also referenced the creativity of historical painters such as Henri Matisse and Lucio Fontana.
McDonald was the winner of the UK's John Moores Painting Prize in 2008.
