Nic Green “Song For The Departed (Seven Bridges)”

Presented in the beautiful surroundings of Sanki Bunko, Song For The Departed (Seven Bridges) is a delicate encounter for one audience member at a time. Inspired by the archetypal qualities of Kannon, the piece invites people to co-create and dedicate a unique vocal composition (performed by Nic Green) to someone/something departed, lost or past. The expressions of this lamentation will be electronically transformed to communicate with indigenous birdlife living on the Asanogawa River.

1st Period : Creative Workshop

This project invites three groups of performing artists selected from Forest Fringe, an artist-driven community in the UK, to attempt experimental and adventurous creative activities with Kanazawa-based artists and creators. The first period (8th to 22nd June) involves making contact with the culture and history of Kanazawa, to which the performing artists are visiting for the first time, as well as interacting with artists and creators in the region. The second period (26th September to 12th October) involves developing ideas for new works to be created and unveiled. A creative workshop to be held will function as an opportunity for interaction. Artists will introduce their own activities and works while exploring the possibilities of creation through mini-workshops and the exchange of opinions with other participants.
Registration is not required and participation is free and open to the public on the day. We look forward to seeing you!
